"Goin' Out Of My Head" is a tribute to one of the most recognized vocal groups in musical history. Ric Steel, Tom Garrett and Mark Preston combine their talents to bring you the romantic sounds of this timeless group. With Mark Preston, a former member of the group, this tribute will be true to the original sounds and ideas behind the famous trio...to bring more than just songs. To give the audience a show!

Ric Steel is an internationally recognized Vocalist/Guitarist/Humorist with 5000+ shows and 40 years in the entertainment business. His Grammy Nomination is the result of his writing a "Best New R and B" single with Josh Charles. He began his career in Memphis when he was asked to sing the lead in the Opera "Amahl and The Night Visitors". He was 10 years old and a boy soprano at the time but it was the spark that ignited his passion for music and the stage. For the next 25 years, music would be his life everyday and he would literally tour the world singing to audiences and watching them stand to their feet with enjoyment. He has two Billboard charted singles to his credit as an artist. His talent is sought after for recording sessions in Nashville, where he has made his home for over 20 years.
Born in Newark, NJ and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, like so many kids Tom's music interest started in the school band playing trumpet. In fact, Tom credits the school band as a life changing experience. As a teenager that interest turned to singing, thanks in no small part to singer Walter Scott and a hit song "The Cheater". "It was 1967, Walter was the first famous person I had ever met" Tom recalls.Now, over 40 years later, Tom has never lost his love for music and performing. "It has been a wonderful ride and if it ended tomorrow I would have no regrets" says Tom. However, that end appears to be nowhere in sight as Tom Garrett continues what has been his passion. He's having fun and doing what he loves best. Performing for the audience.
Variety magazine has called Mark Preston "one of the finest entertainers in show business today". Phyllis Diller refers to him as her protege'. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Mark has been performing in theaters around the world for over 45 years. From the stages of Las Vegas, to the biggest cruise ships afloat, Mark's shows continue to receive rave reviews and standing ovations. His years of personal experience as a member of The Lettermen is what makes this tribute group so authentic. His most recent CD "New Directions" with the Les Brown Jr. Orchestra was put forward for three Grammy nominations. He was also recently inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame for his contributions to the Lettermen over the years.

Biography

Over the years there has been Van Halen, The Beatles, Elvis and Willie, all out on the road singing and performing. There are bands made up of talented musicians that want nothing more than to pay homage to their music legends. Each one takes the time to select the songs that inspire people to keep coming back and remembering the songs that were important to that era. The difference between those groups and the tribute "Goin' Out Of My Head" is clear, Mark Preston. Mark was actually a member of The Lettermen for almost 10 years. He knows the music, the show and the feeling of being a member of The Lettermen.Is the classification of the Tribute to the Lettermen "a tribute band"? This show is in a category of its own. "Goin' Out Of My Head" is a group of talented singers who sing well-loved songs originally sung by The Lettermen and now recreated with their own touch of love for the music and a touch of their immense talent, with a former member of the world famous singing group. "I bring to the stage the experience of actually being a former member of the group", Preston said. "Therefore this sets us apart from other groups that just do the music, but really don't understand the traditions and history of The Lettermen". Mark continued, "The combination of the three of us is very unique in that we all have had very successful solo careers and with that, can continue the idea behind The Lettermen, which was to have three soloists who also have the discipline to sing group harmonies. Another thing that sets us apart is that we have the blessing of the original founder of The Lettermen, Jim Pike. Jim completely supports this group because he knows that we will be truthful to the history of the group in all aspects. He also has said he will help in our efforts to sing the exact harmonies of the original recordings. We are honored to have his blessing and his guidance".Being in the audience of the "Goin' Out of My Head" show will be an experience that everyone will enjoy. Mark was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame for his contributions to The Lettermen over the years. His voice has been featured on numerous albums recorded by The Lettermen. Mark's most recent CD "New Directions" with The Lettermen and the Les Brown, Jr. Orchestra was submitted for three Grammy nominations. Put your Head on My Shoulder, Venus, Hurt So Bad, The Way You Look Tonight, Goin' Out of My Head will all be in the show, as well as countless other songs made famous by The Lettermen. "I recorded over 10 albums and singles with the group as well as a video, enjoying chart topping action on two of the singles", Mark said. "This show is about the wonderful music, the fans, and giving back for everything they have given me over the years. We want to give them a show they are going to remember and want to see again".
